isocket.com is an open environment and platform for advertising transactions. Users are given the right environment, support, and tools they need to power their advertising in new and innovative ways. isocket.com is a transparent marketplace, community, ad network, and programmable platform combined together with one goal – to make advertising easier, efficient, and effective.
The goal of advertising is to communicate a message to a targeted audience in a meaningful manner. isocket gives ad buyers the tools they need to create 360° campaigns that span across all forms of advertising. Conversely, sellers of ad inventory use isocket to create customized sales channels, create their own Ad Networks, innovate with our open source API platform, gain exposure for their inventory, and more. Problem: The industry is limited by fragmented inventory, direct sales models, loose standards, and an ever changing landscape. Most importantly, there is no effective method of adopting emerging and nontraditional forms of advertising – forms that are often the most powerful and sought after. Ad buyers, sellers, and agencies are left scratching their head, trying to figure out the complicated world of advertising. The approach to advertising over the last decade is best described as “inward facing”. Like other areas of technology (such as social networking and open source) advertising services are becoming “outward facing”. In other words, there is an opportunity for a disruptive, open, and transparent advertising platform to emerge – one that powers any form of advertising by providing powerful customization and integration tools. The isocket team: isocket was founded by two experienced web and marketing entrepreneurs in January, 2007. The CTO has over 10 years of advanced web application development. Board members include the founder of a B2B marketplace sold to Kraft, advertising executives from NBC and GM, advertising agency veterans, and experienced startup leaders. Extended network includes relationships with Google, Microsoft, Cisco, Time, Tribune, Leo Burnett, DDB, numerous advertising companies, and more. Market: The domestic advertising market has passed $150b and is growing rapidly. Online spending is growing at 15% or more per year and will reach $30b to $50b by 2011. Agency reports state that 33% of all ad dollars are considered misspent and 47% of campaigns fail. Industry trends show a movement towards “democratization” and programmable platform technology foundations. Competitive Analysis & Advantage: There is no available product with the same technology offering as isocket. The closest competitors can be described as “pieces of the puzzle”. Secondary competitors include ad agencies, stand alone ad networks, and traditional methods of doing business (e.g. direct sales). isocket has clear competitive advantages in proprietary technology, product offering and features, and industry relationships - such as a position with the FTC on online advertising privacy reform. Business Model: isocket primarily uses a pay-for-performance commission model. isocket facilitates the payment process and retains an industry leading 10% commission for most transactions. Secondary sources are agency client management / planning tools and provider fees. Company has clear potential for $100m+ annual revenues. | |
