GTCR chief Rauner wins VC Daley Medal

The Illinois Venture Capital Association has awarded Bruce Rauner, chairman of GTCR Golder Rauner LLC, with its Richard J. Daley Medal in recognition of Rauner's venture capital contributions to Illinois through equity financing.

GTCR, a $6 billion venture capital firm based in Chicago, invests in companies involved in a wide variety of enterprises.

The Illinois association also awarded its Stanley C. Golder medal, in honor of the man considered a founder of the venture capital industry, to Bret Maxwell, managing general partner of MK Capital.

The association's Fellows Medal was awarded to Steven Lazarus, founder and a managing director of ARCH Venture Capital Partners. The trade group also awarded a Fellows Medal to Ellen Carnahan, managing director of William Blair Capital Partners. Carnahan leads Blair's technology investment team.
